Emphasizing Our Connection to the Community

Outreach to the community surrounding PSU is central to PSU's mission and vision as an Urban University. Traditionally, higher education is not viewed as having a responsibility to teach civic engagement and emphasize a connection to its community. At PSU, we strive to reach out to the surrounding community and create connections wherever possible. This enriches the experience for both the university and the community.

Internationalization

As a university contributing to new knowledge, crossing fields of study and regional boundaries, PSU also emphasizes its connection to the larger international community in which it participates.

This tour will take you through our efforts to increase community connections through our community-based learning courses, senior capstones, community business partners, and research and scholarship.
