Portfolio Concept and Management

Kathi A. Ketcheson, Ph.D. is the Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning and Project Director for PSU's institutional portfolio project. Working with a faculty advisory committee, Dr. Ketcheson developed the conceptual framework for PSU's portfolio and provided leadership to the campus processes that have brought a spirit of collaboration and shared ideas to the project. She supervises a team comprising institutional research analysts, a programmer, graphic artist, editor, and graduate student to create and maintain PSU's portfolio. Dr. Ketcheson is a graduate of the University of Washington and of Portland State University, where she earned her doctorate in Urban Studies in 1996. She has published several articles on electronic institutional portfolios and has been involved in workshops and presentations on the topic across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Faculty Participation

Robert Everhart, Ph.D. is a Professor of Education in the Graduate School of Education and chaired the Portfolio Faculty Advisory Committee from 1998 through 2001. Dr. Everhart received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 1972 and is a former Dean of PSU's school of education. His areas of specialization include educational policy, qualitative methods, and the sociology of education. Dr. Everhart guided the faculty committee in developing principles for the design and composition of PSU's institutional portfolio and was an early proponent of using the portfolio as a tool for planning.

Data Analysis and Presentation

Juliette Stoering is an Institutional Research Analyst in OIRP and serves as the IR representative to the portfolio project. Ms. Stoering earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1992 from the University of Puget Sound and her Master's Degree from the University of Victoria in 1994. Currently, she is completing the requirements for her Ph.D. in Urban Studies at PSU. Ms. Stoering provided qualitative and quantitative data throughout the portfolio, specifically to the Statistical Look, which she conceptualized and developed. She also worked closely with the portfolio's programmer to ensure that information moved efficiently between the portfolio and the institutional research web sites. Ms. Stoering is active in university committees and provides survey research support to faculty and students across campus.

Shem Caitlin O'Hailey is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English in 2000 from Portland State University and her Master's Degree in Writing in 2003. Her work on the Portfolio website includes all aspects of content development: writing, editing, HTML coding, and Zope development.

Website Design and Programming

David McCuskey (McCuskey Consulting) is an independent consultant specializing in database driven websites. He developed the original Portfolio website in 1999.

Graphic Design

Jeremy Emerson is the creative director at Finestra Media, a Portland-based interactive company. He created the original graphics for the Portfolio website.
