Gender and Ethnicity
Close to 51% of the full-time faculty are women. Fall 1994 the gender split was 58% male and 42% female.

Full-time faculty who self-identified as Asian/Pacific Islander represent the largest ethnic minority (6.5%). The next largest ethnic minority group consists of Black, non-Hispanic Faculty (3.2%). Most faculty (78.9%) self-identified as white, non-Hispanic. Ten years ago, 4.0% of the full-time faculty self-identified as Asian/Pacific Islander and 2.9% Black, non-Hispanic.
Tenure and Rank
Over half (62%) of the full-time faculty are fixed term faculty, 27% have indefinite tenure and 11% hold tenure-track positions.
The largest percentage of faculty (35%) hold positions that are not ranked. These positions are administrative appointments, academic professional, or coaching positions. The ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor make up 48% of all full-time faculty.
Over half (51%) of the full-time faculty are instructional faculty. Instructional faculty are those members who devote at least 50% of their time toward teaching.
