Portland State University is committed to providing opportunities for its undergraduates to pursue their intellectual and creative development throughout their lives. Completion of a degree program provides a foundation for mastery in the chosen fields of study, and also develops a broad capacity for inquiry and critical thinking. Students learn various forms of communication and analytical techniques, and get many opportunities to practice and use them with confidence.
For the bachelor's degree, all students complete the requirements for their major, plus general education requirements, including University Studies or the Honors Program. They may also choose to supplement their major coursework with a certificate program, a minor, or a nondegree preprofessional program. See the menu of links for more details.
